Pakistan?s utility Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) is seeking to get coal supply from Indonesia?s coal mining group Titan Group.
The move comes as the company is in the process of converting its power plants to use coal amid rising price of petroleum fuel and shortages of gas, a report said on Friday.
?The company has identified a coal mine in Indonesia, and Long-term fuel supply agreement is in advance stages with Titan Group of Indonesia,? the report said.
It added that the company has signed a Joint Agreement with BEEGL, a consortium of Chinese, Korean and Indonesia companies to fund US$220 million for a Coal Conversion Project, starting with two units with a capacity of 200 MW each. (*)
