Pakistan seeks coal supply from RI

Pakistan is seeking to import up to 4.2 million tons per year of coal from Indonesia as two new coal-fired power plants, each with capacity of 660 MW, are being developed there by Jamshoro Power Company Limited (JPCL).
The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi said in a statement obtained Monday that JPCL?s CEO, Hassan Chang informed the consulate that the company would require coal with CV of 5,300-5,700 kcal per kg.
The power plant project has entered feasibility study and it will be funded by the Asian Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
The statement said that pre-bidding for the coal supply has been started, and will be closed on October 2.
