PAM to produce Balangan Coal in 2013

PT. Pintu Air Mas (PAM) Group through its coal mining unit PT Paramitha Cipta Sarana plans to start commercial production in 2013, under the name of coal product called Balangan Coal.

At present, the company is just entering into construction phase of the two mines. The company has hired construction firm PT Wijaya Karya to build its hauling road and crushing plant, the source said without giving the details regarding the projects.

The company is expecting to produce 1 million tonnes of coal in the first year of production and ramping-up to 4 million tonnes per annum in the next few years thereafter.

For mining contractor, the company has not decided yet, the source said.

Balangan Coal has calorific value of 5,500 kcal/kg (ADB) with total moisture about 30%.

PAM Group began from the establishment of PT. Pintu Air Mas in 1983 which is the embryo of the PAM Group itself. Initially PT. Pintu Air Mas was operating in the field of property development as well as contractor in Jakarta and surrounding areas, among others including Lokasari shopping complex Jakarta, and Kalimalang shopping complex in Bekasi.
