“With world coal prices improving, there will be more smaller mining companies pushing for production. In addition, existing coal producers will also push for production increase, which will provide opportunity for Pama,” said UT president Hagianto Kumala on the sidelines of UT’s public expose.
Pama is known to be in talks with PT. Timah’s coalmine subsidiary PT. Tanjung Alam Jaya and several other coal miners. Pama recently failed to win a mining contract extension with PT. Kaltim Prima Coal, and it also failed to win mining contract with PT. Arutmin Indonesia. Both contracts went to competitor PT. Thiess Contractor Indonesia, a subsidiary of Australian company Leighton holdings Limited.
This year, Pama bagged a significant overburden removal contract from East Kalimantan miner PT. Kideco Jaya Agung after the latter terminate contract with Thiess.
Pama's other clients including PT Adaro Indonesia, Indominco Mandiri, PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, PT. Multi Harapan Utama, and PT Dasa Eka Jasatama. (robert)
