Pama Persada records production increase, earnings in Q1, 2002

Publicly listed heavy equipment maker PT United Tractors said on Thursday that its wholly owned mining contractor subsidiary PT Pama Persada Nusantara recorded 7 million tons of coal production for its principals during the first quarter of this year, higher than the previous year?s corresponding period production of 5.4 million tons.

United tractors said during the first quarter Pama booked a net earning of Rp. 776.88 billion (US$ = 9,300), significantly higher than previous year?s quarter of Rp. 632.12 billion.

Coal contracting accounts for 92.5 percent of Pama Persada?s revenue in 2002. (alex/robert)
