Pama reports higher H1 coal production

Mining contractor PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama), a unit of IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor and miner PT United Tractors reported on Thursday that its first half coal production reached 30.1 million tons in 2009, 3% higher than last year?s same period production.

Pama said that overburden removal in the first semester also increased by 30% to 272 million bank cubic meters.

Despite increase in production, gross profit was 20.8% lower due to increased cost of production such as for repair and maintenance as well as for subcontractor, it said.

Pama is Indonesia?s largest mining services provider. The company?s existing clients include PT Adaro Indonesia, PT Indominco Mandiri, PT Kaltim Prima Coal, Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, PT Multi Harapan Utama, and PT Kideco Jaya Agung. (denny)
