Pama?s Q1 overburden removal volume up on Kideco contract

JSX-listed heavy equipment maker PT. United Tractors (UT) said Friday that its mining contractor unit PT. Pama Persada Nusantara (Pama) produced 6.7 million tons of coal for its employers and removed 40 million bcm of overburden during the first quarter of 2004, higher compared to last year?s corresponding quarter production of 6.8 million tons of coal production and 29.3 million bcm of overburden removal.

UT said the increase in overburden removal volume was due to works in East Kalimantan coal miner PT. Kideco Jaya Agung, which had reached full scale in 2004.

During the quarter, Pama booked 16 percent increased net revenue to Rp.803.82 billion (US$ = Rp. 8,600), which is also due to full commencement of Kideco contract.

During the quarter, Pama also clinched 12-year contract to produce coal at KPC?s new Bendili mine.(alex)
