Mining contractor company PT Pamapersada Nusantara, a subsidiary of IDX-listed heavy equipment and mining firm PT United Tractors Tbk, has set a lower stripping ratio target of 6.5x for this year compared to 7.02x last year.
Pamapersada President Director Frans Kesuma said that its coal mining clients have mostly decided to cut down the stripping ratio this year as part of efficiency drive to help cope with the current coal downturn.
Pamapersada has 15 clients including three affiliated coal miners. ?Our large clients such as Adaro, ITMG, and KPC in average cut down their overburden removal (volume) for this year,,? he said, adding that this would affect the company?s revenue.
He said that to help cope with lower business volume, Pamapersada will continue efficiency measures.
The company has a coal production target of 99 million tons and over burden removal volume of 225 million bcm for this year. Last year, coal production from mines owned by clients reached 110 million, overburden removal volume stood at 250 million bcm.
