Pamapersada produces 55.8 million tons of coal in January-August

The company said the overburden removal work increased 21 percent to 516.1 million bcm from 426.4 million bcm in the same period in the previous year.
Pamapersada also operates coal mining through its subsidiaries PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TAA). Up until August 2011, the two companies posted 2.91 million tonnes coal sales, increased 74 percent from 1.67 million tonnes during the same period in the previous year .
United Tractors said the other coal concession holders -- Agung Bara prima (ABP), Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB), Asmin Bara Jaan (ABJ) as well as Duta Sejahtera (DS) -- are projected to start producing next year.
Meanwhile, in the first eight months to August, United Tractors sold 5,650 units Komatsu brand heavy equipment, up 55 percent from 3,653 units during the same period in the previous year.
The largest sales volume was contributed by mining sector, reaching 68 percent of total heavy equipment sales, followed by plantation (16 percent). Heavy equipment sales to construction and forestry contributed to 10 percent and six percent respectively. (romel)
