Pamapersada's overburden removal rate rise 3% in Q1

The country's largest mining contracting firm, PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama) reported that its coal production rose 12% from 21.1 million tons to 23.7 million tons in the first quarter with overburden removal increased 3% from 192.6 million bcm to 199.3 million bcm.

The company said in quarterly report on Thursday that revenue for Mining Contracting segment in first quarter 2013 rose 19% to Rp7.08 trillion from Rp5.97 trillion.

"Higher production volume as well as better weather condition and favorable currency exchange rate have supported Pama to record improved gross profit margin of 15.5%," the company said.

Pamapersada, a subsidiary of United Tractors was set up in 1989. Pamapersada has three subsidiaries namely PT Kalimantan Prima Persada, PT Pama Indo Mining and PT Multi Prima Universal.
