Pan Asia commissions underground mining study at TCM

Australia-listed coal mining firm Pan Asia Corporation Limited announced Tuesday that it has commissioned Kopex Mining Contractor to undertake independent study on the possibility of carrying out underground mine at its TCM Coal Project in South Kalimantan.

The company said that the study would provide a key platform for the development of the project.

The company expects the study to be completed by mid-year.

The commissioning of the Kopex report follows the recent announcement of 73% increase in the project?s JORC Resource to 53.2 million tonnes comprising 22.4 million tonnes of Indicated coal resources and 30.8 million tonnes of Inferred Coal Resources.

The quality of the coal has an average calorific value of 6,566 kcal /kg (ADB), 6.41% total moisture, 13.52% ash and 1.52% sulphur.

The JORC Resource calculation was also undertaken by Kopex.

The TCM project is located adjacent to PT Arutmin Indonesia?s ATA coal mine. (alex)
