Canadian firm Pan Orient Energy Corp said that the operator of the East Jabung Production Sharing Contract, in Jambi Province, has advised that the AYU-1X exploration well commenced drilling on July 29, a nine day delay from a previous rescheduled target of July 20.

?It is anticipated that the well will reach total depth on or about August 31, 33 days from the commencement of drilling,? the company said in a statement on Monday.

Pan Orient, which owns a non-operating 49 percent interest in the East Jabung PSC, said initially that the drilling program was scheduled for end April, but this was rescheduled to July 5, and then postponed again to July 20 due to the long Moslem Idul Fitri holiday in Indonesia.
