Canadian oil, gas firm is planning to drill three exploration wells in its two PSC blocks onshore Sumatra in 2013.

The company said in 2012 First Quarter Financial & Operating Results released Monday that it would be acquiring 2D seismic data in the East Jabung and South CPP PSCs in the second half of 2012, setting the stage for a 3-well exploration program on these PSCs in 2013.

The company has 100 percent interest in East Jabung and 97 percent in South CPP and operates both blocks.

Pan Orient is currently conducting 3-well drilling in Citarum PSC onshore and plans to drill 2 firm wells with another two contingent wells in Batu Gajah PSC, onshore South Sumatra, starting late in the third quarter of this year. One of the firm wells will be an appraisal of the NTO-1 gas discovery that will be drilled to confirm the overall size of the gas accumulation in the Lower Talang Akar sandstones and test the possibility of an oil or gas accumulation in the overlying Upper Talang Akar sandstones.
