PT Pandawa Prima Lestari said that Medco and Pertagas have agreed to buy gas from the planned development of the Wain block in East Kalimantan.

Pandawa?s Head of General Affairs and Support Division, Dwi Djatmiko told Petromindo.com on Friday that the company had signed at the end of last month a MoU with Medco and Pertagas.

As has been previously reported by this portal, Pandawa claimed it has recently found gas at the Karamba Updip-1 exploration well in the Wain block.

Dwi said that the company is now seeking for upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas to certify the gas discovery.

He said that the company plans to propose plan of development to be able to quickly start production. ?We hope to start gas production at the end of next year,? Dwi said, adding that everything goes as planned construction of production facility is targeted to start early 2017.

The Wain exploration block is located onshore Kutei Basin, which is one of prolific hydrocarbon producing basins in Indonesia, covering an area of 1,149 square kilometers. The block is 100 percent owned by PT Pandawa Prima Lestari.
