The police in Papua have improved security control in all entry points such as airports and seaports to the province?s major cities following the bloody explosion which hit a number of entertainment centers in tourist island of Bali on Saturday night.

Papua Governor JP Salossa said on Monday that the extra-security control was needed to prevent terrorist members from entering the province?s major cities particularly those located near PT Freeport Indonesia and the massive Tangguh gas project.

In East Kalimantan, the local police also briefed the management of foreign companies mostly involved in oil, gas and mining operations about the police?s plan to curb possible terrorist attacks on the province?s vital projects.

The companies were told to avoid conflicts with the local communities because such incidents could be used by irresponsible people to spread the hatred feeling against foreigners.

Meanwhile in Batam, many Singaporean companies have voiced concern over the security situation on the island following the bloody Bali incident, which killed over 180 foreign tourists. The Singaporean businessmen feared that the incident could also take place on Batam which not only hosts hundreds of Singaporean companies but has also become an important tourist destination for the neighboring country?s residents.
