The 2x10 MW PLTU Holtekamp coal-fired power plant in Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, is set to start full commercial operation soon as the second unit has entered commissioning stage, said PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, in a recent statement.

As has been previously reported, the PLTU Holtekamp, dubbed as the first coal-fired power plant in Papua, will end the power crisis in Jaya Pura, which has installed capacity of 68 MW while peak load at 75 MW.

Completion of the power plant has suffered delays since 2010 due to various reasons.
