Papuan youth should be prepared to be able to work at foreign companies which would develop a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Telkuk Bentuni, Manokwari, according to the head of Papua mining office, Paul Jantewo.

Paul said that BP Plc, which would be responsible for the construction and development of the LNG plant, should be able to empower the local people as it promised.

BP has issued five points of commitment in its operation in Papua ? empowering the local people, promoting equality, consultation, participation and sustainable cooperation.

?They are just commitment and we need a proof, and the realization of the promise into a reality,? he said. (*)
