Coal mining firm PT Parama Persada plans to produce 40,000 tons of coal this year, the same as last year, from its partner?s coal mine in Kutai Kartanegara regency, East Kalimantan, the company?s director said on Tuesday.
Stephen Patra told Petromindo.Com that Parama entered into an agreement with PT Masindo Inti Energi Perkasa in 2008 to co-develop the latter's 850 Ha coal mine in Kutai Kartanegara.
Coal from the mine is mostly exported with a calorie content ranging from 6,300-6,500 Kcal/kg (ADB), he said, adding that the mine is just 2 kilometers from Mahakam River.
Currently, Parama is still looking for small to medium scale coal firms to become partners in a bid to increase its coal output from the region, he added. (denny)
