Part of LNG for PGN, PLN to be exported to S. Korea

Part of the LNG allocated for state-owned gas distribution firm PT. Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) and electricity firm PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) this year via the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in the Jakarta Bay may be exported to South Korea.

Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja, Deputy for Commercial Control at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, told Petromindo.com Thursday that the two firms could only absorb 2-3 cargoes out of the 5 cargoes of LNG allocated for them this year.

As such, the remaining cargoes will have to be exported, he said, pointing out that South Korea?s Kogas would be the buyer.

As reported on Wednesday, Director General of Oil and Gas A. Edy Hermantoro said that South Korean buyers including Kogas are seeking for extra LNG supply from Indonesia this year. He said that his office was waiting for recommendation from SKK Migas. PT Badak NGL, the operator of the Bontan LNG refinery in East Kalimantan, said it was ready to supply 2 cargoes of LNG to South Korea this year.
