PAU?s ammonia plant to soon start production

PT Panca Amara Utama (PAU), a subsidiary of IDX-listed PT Surya Esa Perkasa Tbk. (SEP), said its ammonia plant in Luwuk, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi, is set to start trial production in November of this year, and full-scale commercial operation early next year.
?We?re completing (the construction process). As per August, construction progress has reached 94 percent. Trial production will be made in November,? said PAU Director Prakash Bumb on Monday.
He said the plant will start commercial operation in January of next year with production volume of 2,000 tons per day, or 700,000 tons per year.
?In the trial production (phase), production volume will probably be under 2,000 tons per day. We own a contract to sell the entire output to Mitsubishi Corporation,? he said, adding that PAU invested US$830 million in the ammonia plant.
PAU has been allocated with 55 mmscfd of gas for the ammonia plant from Senoro-Toili block operated by the Joint Operating Body Pertamina - Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi (JOB-PMTS) until December 2027.
