PCG Power said it has commenced commercial operations at a 9.57 megawatt distributed photovoltaic project in Central Sulawesi, as the Chinese renewable energy firm expands its presence in Southeast Asia.
The project is expected to generate about 12.246 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 12,209 tonnes per year, the company said. The emissions savings are equivalent to planting roughly 670,000 trees each year.

The solar facility will supply power to a local plant operated by BTR, a subsidiary of China Baoan Group, which produces materials used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and consumer electronics.
PCG Power said the project will deliver cost-efficient and reliable clean energy to support industrial operations, while contributing to Indonesia’s broader efforts to expand renewable energy capacity and reduce emissions.
