Coal mining company PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN), a subsidiary of Lestari Citra Persada (LCP), has secured a contract to supply 100,000 tons of coal per month to PT PLN Batubara, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, in 2017.

Henry Soetio, LCP President Director told Petromindo.com recently that the contract volume is doubled compared to the contract in 2016.

"Last year, we had a contract for the supply of 600,000 tons (of coal) to PLN Batubara, but we were able to supply only 300,000 tons due to technical problem," he said.

Henry added as there are several new coal fired power plants, the demand from PLN Batubara has significantly increased. The coals are taken from its concession in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan Province.
