South Sumatra provincial administration-owned company Perusahaan Daerah Pertambangan Energi (or PDPE) signed an agreement with state-owned consultancy and inspection services company PT Sucofindo for the development of a 113-km gas pipeline linking Palembang and Tanjung Api-Api in the province, and Muntok in Bangka Belitung Province, Investor Daily reported on Thursday.

The paper said that the cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday by PDPE President Director Yaniarsyah Hasan and Sucofindo President Director Bachder Djohan. No further details about the planned project was provided.

This portal reported in February that the downstream oil and gas authority BPH Migas was set to issue a special right for PDPE to develop a 130-km gas pipeline (not 113-km) linking Tanjung Api-Api and Muntok.

BPH Migas Director Umi Asngadah said to Petromindo.com that the open-access category pipeline will transmit gas allocated from the Corridor Block, operated by ConocoPhillips, for PDPE and PT Pertamina Gas Niaga. (*)
