PDSI builds DS-10 rig

PT Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is currently in the process of constructing another drilling rig called DS-10.

The company said in a statement obtained Monday it has assigned PT Citra Tubindo Engineering (CTE) to build the 1,500 HP rig facility in Batam. PDSI has previously ordered similar rigs called DS-8 and DS-9 from CTE, both of which have been operated satisfactorily at MCL Cepu, said PDSI President Director Faried Rudiono.

He said that one of the advantages of such rig is that it can be moved to other location with rig down process.

Faried that the development of new rigs forms part of PDSI?s vision to become a world class drilling services firm.
