PT Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI) has won a contract to provide rigs to be used for the planned drilling of 20 wells at West Madura Offshore (WMO) block for 2 years, WMO operator PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) said.

?After a tender process, we will use rigs from PDSI for 2 years to drill 20 wells,? PHE President Director Salis Aprilian told petromindo.com.

He said at present, the rigs are still undergoing maintenance works at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore. He expects the rigs could be mobilized to the WMO site by the end of October.

PHE has previously said that between mid 2012 and 2013, at the WMO, it plans to drill 5 exploration wells and 15 development wells, and carry out dozens of workover as well as installing 3 new production platforms and refurbishment of one platform.
