The contract has a duration of two years and PDSI will use D-1000/52 rig for the drilling, PDSI?s President Director Faried Rudiono said, adding it is the third conctract won by the company after the drilling conracts for the MCL project in Cepu, Central-East Java, and the JOB Medco project in Tomori, Sulawesi.
Faried said the firm is waiting for upstream authority to approve the contract award.
He also said PDSI is participating in the tenders held by ConocoPhillips and Supreme Energy and is preparing to expand to countries such as Algeria, Iraq, Brunei and Papua New Guinea.
The firm continues modernizing its equipment, he said. In 2008, when the firm was founded, it only had 24 rigs. Now the firm has 42 rigs, including seven with high technology and capacity of 1000 and 15000 hp.
