Coal exporters in Bengkulu province have demanded the state-owned port operator PT Pelindo to lower its coal shipment tariff to Rp 8,000 per ton from the current Rp 9,500 per ton.
?The tariff imposed by Pelindo is too high,? said manager of coal mining firm PT Bukit Sunur, Made Widana on Tuesday as quoted by the evening Jakarta-based Suara Pembaruan daily.
Bukit Sunur is one of the largest coal mining companies in Bengkulu with export capacity of between 600,000 tons to 1 million per year to India and Malaysia.(*)
