Pelindo III begins construction of gas-engine power plant

State-owned port operator PT Pelindo III started Tuesday construction of a combined 13 MW gas-engine power plant to support the operation of the Teluk Lamong International Terminal in East Java.

President Director of Teluk Lamong Terminal, Prasetyadi said in a statement issued Thursday by Pelindo III following a ground-breaking ceremony that the power plant would be operated by its subsidiary PT Lamong Energi Indonesia in synergy with state-controlled construction and engineering firm PT Adhi Karya Tbk.

The statement said that Max Power Indonesia has been appointed as the contractor for the power plant project, which would be developed in two phases, capacity of 6.6 MW to be developed this year, and the remainder in 2016.
