PT Lamong Energi Indonesia (LEGI), an indirect subsidiary of state-owned port management company PT Pelindo III, has recently started operation of a 6.6 MW gas engine power plant (PLTMG) to provide electricity for the operation of the Teluk Lamong container terminal, in Surabaya, East Java, operated by Pelindo subsidiary PT Terminal Teluk Lamong.
Pelindo said in a statement on Tuesday that the PLTMG has two engines each with capacity of 3.3 MW.
LEGI cooperates with PT Widar, a subsidiary of state-controlled gas distribution firm in the supply of the required gas for the power plant.
