Pelindo IV inaugurates mini power plant

State-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) IV inaugurate on Friday operation of a 3 MW mini power plant at its container terminal in Makassar, South Sulawesi Province.
Pelindo IV President Director Farid Padang was quoted as saying that the mini power plant will electrify five units of container crate at the terminal?s container yard, thus allowing the company to reduce the use of diesel fuel in loading and unloading activities.
He said that the mini power plant will help the company improve efficiency by up to 30 percent in the operation of the container terminal.
Going forward, Pelindo IV plans to develop power plant with greater capacity including gas-based and the required regasification facility. (*)
