Pelindo IV starts construction of Makassar mini power plant

State-owned port operator PT Pelindo IV has started construction of a mini gas-fired power plant at the Makassar container terminal compound in South Sulawesi with a ground-breaking ceremony held on Saturday.

Pelindo IV President Director Doso Agung said that construction of the Rp 30 billion power plant project is expected to be completed within two years. He did not say the capacity of the power plant.

He added that the project is expected to help the company?s efforts to become a ?green? port operator as well as reduce consumption of oil fuel at the terminal. (*)
