PT Pelindo Marine Service, a marine services subsidiary of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), has expanded its operational fleet with the deployment of two new pilot boats, MP. Mandalika 01 and MP. Mandalika 02, in Kalimantan to support shipping and logistics activities.
MP. Mandalika 01, equipped with twin 115-horsepower engines, has been assigned to Tenggarong in East Kalimantan, while MP. Mandalika 02, powered by twin 200-horsepower engines, will operate in Tarakan, North Kalimantan.
The fiber-based vessels were built by a domestic shipyard operated by PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim and are intended to improve pilot mobility, operational safety, and vessel guidance services in the two regions.

Pelindo Marine Commercial, Operations and Engineering Director Elvin Syah Putra said the vessels were designed to match the geographical and operational conditions of local waterways.
Senior Engineering Manager Yohannes Lianto said the vessels comply with technical standards and operational requirements set by the Transportation Ministry.
In Tenggarong, Pelindo Marine said the additional vessel would help improve pilotage services for coal-carrying ships operating in the Mahakam River area.
Meanwhile in Tarakan, the company said MP. Mandalika 02 would strengthen operational readiness for pilotage services involving container ships, coal carriers, and tankers.
