State oil and gas company PT Pertamina and PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) have signed a purchase contract of lubricants for the shipping company?s ships.

The three-year contract was signed by Pelni President Director Jussabella Sahea and Pertamina Marketing Director Hanung Budya during a signing ceremony held in Jakarta on Friday.

?We really appreciate that Pelni trust Pertamina in supplying the lubricants. We Pertamina is committed to giving the best service with high quality and competitive prices to Pelni. We hope that this cooperation, between two state firms, can develop well and will be getting better in the future,? said Hanung.

He noted that Pertamina?s experience and big-scale clients in shipping industry, such as Tempuran Mas, SPIL, and Meratus, can stand as a strong basis for Pelni to rely more on Pertamina in providing lubricant supplies for its shipping fleet.

Pertamina is currently the largest producer of lubricants in Indonesia with a total production of more than 600,000 kiloliter per year with a market share of about 60 percent in local market.

Recently, Pertamina has also signed a lubricant procurement contract with state utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara through its two subsidiaries, namely PT Indonesia Power and PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali.

Pertamina has also been exporting lubricant products to 24 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
