Upstream company PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, has since early August been conducting four well workover activities at the Sungai Gelam structure (ex-TAC EMP Sungai Gelam) in Jambi field, Jambi Province, at a depth of 1,500 meters in a bid to help increase production.

Syamsu Alam, Upstream Director of Pertamina, said on Monday that the workover activities are still in progress, which are expected to be completed at the end of October or early November.

He added that this year PEP Asset I Jambi Field will also comprehensively reactive the ex-TAC Tuba Obi structure.

He said that in a bid to also help increase the field?s production level, PEP Asset I has also been reactivating ten suspended wells at Jambi field, a program expected to be completed at the end of this year.

In the first semester of this year, PEP Asset I managed to reactive eight suspended wells, providing extra oil output of 50 bpd.

Syamsu said that in a bid to help maintain efficient cost of production, particularly with regards to electricity use, the PEP Asset I management has decided to upgrade the Sungai Gelam power plant, and relocate two units of ex-TAC Salamander power generator set to Jambi field.

?All these activities are still in progress, and targeted to be concluded by end of 2017,? Syamsu said.

In the first semester of this year, PEP Asset I, Jambi Field, produced 3,484 bpd of oil, which is still below the target of 3,525 bpd, while gas output reached 4.86 mmscfd, or has well exceeded the 2.99 mmscfd target.
