PT Pertamina EP (PEP) said it has recently drilled a new well at the Ramba field in South Sumatra to help increase production rate at the aging field.
Ramba Field Manager, Agus Amperianto said in a statement received Friday that the Tanjung Laban (TL)-AA2 well located in Tanjung Laban, Musi Banyuasin Regency, was spudded on August 3 using CWKT 210-B rig owned by PT PDSI with final depth target of 780 meters. The drilling program was expected to be completed in 24 days.
?The TL-AA2 well is expected to provide additional production of 170 bopd,? he said.
Agus said that the drilling program was expected to help increase production at the field, which has been lagging in meeting this year?s output target.
He said that as per the first semester of this year, production rate stood at 4,286 bopd, or only about 81 percent of the 5,306 bopd target.
He said that other efforts to help increase production at the aging field is through well intervention and stimulation.
