PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, expects additional oil output of about 800 bpd from four wells at the Subang field in West Java in the fourth quarter of this year.
Subang field Manager Armand M. Hukom said that the four wells include two Jati Asri wells, Jati Sinta, and Jati Rimba.
He said that exploration results from the four wells have been encouraging, each expected to produce about 200 bpd in the fourth quarter of this year.
?In the Subang field there are three types of well. The first can produce naturally, the second must use pump for its production, and the third must be helped with gas injection system for its production,? he explained, adding that in the near future the company will use a hydraulic system.
Oil production at the Subang field, spanning Subang and Karawang regencies, as of end of June of this year stood at 1,196 bpd, while gas at 239.68 mmscfd, both slightly exceeding the targets set in the 2016 Work Program and Budget.
The field currently consists of 58 production wells and seven injection wells scattered in Cilamaya area of Karawang regency and some areas in Subang regency.
Oil from the field is supplied to the Balongan refinery, while the gas is supplied to consumers such as state-owned steel maker PT Krakatau Steel Tbk and state owned fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Kujang.
The firm also sells carbon dioxide (CO2) from the field to two main buyers, PT Samator and PT Aneka Gas Industri.
