PEP finds gas at MTD-8 well

PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas frm PT Pertamina, announced on Thursday the discovery of gas Matindo (MTD)-8 well, Matindok field in Central Sulawesi.

The gas was discovered at secondary objective, that is M-52 limestone at the depth of 1945-1950 mMD, which is located above Minhaki Formation, which is the main target reservoir.

Based on DST results, the M-52 layer flows 10.33 mmscfd and 110 bcpd on 32/64? choke, 2200 psig WHP, 0 ppm H2S, 0.5% CO2; and 23,29 mmscfd and 127 bcpd on 56/64? choke, 1600 psig WHP, 0 ppm H2S, 1% CO2.

The well was spudded on Nov. 28, 2014 with a depth target of 2358 mMD. The gas discovery will strengthen Matindok capability to meet its commitment to buyers. Gas from Matindok will be supplied to the Donggi-Senoro LNG plant (35 mmscfd) and state owned power firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (20 mmscfd).
