PEP gives police two months to fight illegal oil tappers in S. Sumatra

PT Pertamina EP (PEP) demanded the police to get rid of the long-running illegal tapping of crude oil at its Tempino-Plaju pipeline in South Sumatra within two months, or the company would go to the military to resolve the problem.

The company signed an MoU with the South Sumatra Police on Thursday to completely eradicate the illegal crude oil tappers.

?We give the police two months time to act and apprehend the illegal tappers of our oil. If not, we?ll team up with the military,? PEP Public Relations Manager, Agus Amperianto told Petromindo.com on Thursday.

Agus added that PEP for now will continue to use the Tempino-Plaju crude pipeline.
