PEP makes another discovery in Melandong field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), has made an oil and gas discovery at Jati Sinta-1 (JST-1) wildcat well in Melandong field located in Kalentambo village, Pusakanegara district, Subang regency, West Java.
Drill stem test yielded oil at the rate of 475 bopd (38.2 API) and gas at the rate of 3.7 mmscfd.
PEP?s President Director Andriyansyah said the JST-1 well is located 2.6 km northeast of Jati Asri-1 (JAS-1) well, where the firm has also made discovery. JAS-1 has produced 183,317.4 barrels oil oil and 662.3 mmsc of gas from June 20, 2014 through April 4, 2015.
Besides, Adriyansyah said the firm also managed to discover oil and gas at Jati Asri-2 (JAS-2) well. Drill stem test there yielded gas the rate of 2.8 mmscfd and oil at the rate of 257 bopd. The well is positioned 1.6 km southeast of JAS-1 well in Kebondanas village, Pusakajaya district, Subang regency.
He said the Jati Asri drilling program was concluded 14 days earlier than schedule, thanks to the cost effectiveness program carried out by the firm.
Realized spending for the JAS-2 well drilling stood at US$7.9 million, 33.7 percent lower than the the initial budget of $12 million, Adriyansyah said.
