PEP moves to increase output in aging Adera field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, is seeking to increase oil and gas production at the aging Adera field in South Sumatra Province.

Adera Field Manager Hari Widodo said in a statement obtained Monday that in the first two months of this year, Adera field showed encouraging results.

With the various efforts taken so far in the aging field, average oil production in Adera in January reached 1,213 bpd, or 26 percent higher than the 950.29 bpd target set in the 2017 work program and budget (RKAP). In February, oil production was 1,523 bpd, or more than 50 percent higher than the 1,013 bpd target set in the RKAP.

Gas output, however, was lower than target. In January, gas production was 3.58 mmscfd compared to target of 4.56 mmscfd, and in February reached 3.56 mmscfd compared to the target of 4.55 mmscfd. ?In early 217, we have spirit and commitment to achieve production target of 1,500 bopd through the motto Road To 1,500 and on February 12, 217, reached peak oil of 1,637 bopd,? Hari said.

Hari said that in 2017, Adera field is challenged by the PEP management to increase oil production to exceed 2,000 bopd. He said that Adera field will continue well intervention measures to help meet the target including (1) fishing jog in nine wells (ABB-050, ABB-065, RJA-018, RJA-090, ABB-060, ABB-061, RJA-084, ABB-034, ABB-047) with year to date (YTD) potential gain of 105 bopd; (2) reparation of 13 wells (DWA-050, DWA-059,DWA-065, DWA-067, IBT-001, IBT-002, IBT-004, IBT-005, IBT-009, RJA-036, RJA-052, RJA-116, and RJA-124) with YTD potential gain of 142 bopd; (3) reopening of nine suspended wells (ABB-054, ABB-108, ABB-105, ABB-115, ABB-106, ABB-041, DWA-034, RJA-083, and RJA-113) with potential gain of 143 bopd.

?We expect total potential production gain of 390 bopd from the well intervention throughout 2017,? Hari said.

PEP Asset 2 Adera Field is specifically located in Pengabuan Village, Abab District, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) Regency, South Sumatra. The size of the Adera working area is about 47 sqkm covering three operating areas namely Abab, Raja and Dewa fields.
