PT Pertamina EP Cepu Alas Dara Kemuning (PEPC ADK) has decided to drill a new well in the Alas Dara Kemuning block in Blora, Central Java due to unsatisfactory results of re-entry well drilling.

?The results of the re-entry well drilling are inconclusive due to various problems faced during operation. That?s why we shall re-evaluate other subsurface data. There were a lot of problems caused by the local people as well as technical problems that happened because information collected prior to the re-entry drilling was inaccurate,? Andriansyah, Pertamina EP Cepu?s President Director, said on Thursday.

For the moment, the firm dared not to project when the block will come onstream. ?The Plan of Development (PoD) will depend the drilling result of the new well,? he said.

The firm started drilling four re-entry wells within the block in last November and finished the drilling in the first half of this year.

The ADK block was previously part of the Cepu block. In the 1990s, the Cepu block was under control of TAC Humpus. The block is now controlled by ExxonMobil and Pertamina. The re-entry wells were first drilled by Humpus.
