PEP prepares TLJ 157 to tackle TLJ 25 INF

Pertamina EP (PEP) is preparing the TLJ 157 well for horizontal drilling or layer perforation/ lithology to the center of kick in the TLJ 25 INF well as one of several options to kill the wild bursts of TLJ 25 INF well in Prabumulih, South Sumatra.

The work in the TLJ-157 well is planned to be conducted at the depth interval of 292-304 meter. The preparation is part of follow-up efforts to reduce the gas pressure from the TLJ 25 INF well. The next step will be a simultaneous injection of heavy mud with SG 1,9 to kill the kick.

The work progress on the TLJ 157 well has reached 85 percent, so that the plan of killing the kick through TLJ 157 could be implemented on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the local people who have been evacuated to a safe location are reportedly in good condition and they will be accommodated there until the work is finalized.
