PEP prepares to repair under sea gas pipeline

PT Pertamina EP (PEP) has requested for a permit from the Ministry of Transportation?s Directorate General of Sea Transport to repair an undersea gas pipeline in Cilamaya, West Java.
The repair work will be carried out this month, Public Relations Manager of PEP Agus Amperianto told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
He said that the repair work would not disrupt the 75 mmscfd gas supply for fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Kujang and other industrial customers in West Java. ?The gas supply will not be disrupted because we?ll install the L Parigi jumper line directly to Cimalaya,? he said.
The Kontan daily, however, quoted PT Pupuk Kujang public relations manager, Aby Radityo as saying Tuesday that the company would shut down one of its production units in anticipation of a disruption in the supply of gas during the repair work at the undersea gas pipeline.
