PEP regrets violent protests by workers in Cirebon

It stated that during the demonstrations, a group of the workers turned off some oil and gas production facilities, blockaded and caused some damages to the energy assets.
The violence has forced the company to temporarily stop its oil and gas operation there.
Due to the violence, six of Pertamina?s workers were injured, and the company is facing a potential loss of 1,516 barrels of oil per day.
?We respect freedom, but we regret that the demonstrations in Jatibarang had turned violent and caused fellow workers injuries and financial losses,? Pertamina EP?s Public Relations Manager Agus Amperianto said on Saturday.
He hoped that the security forces would provide a positive support in dealing with the condition.
The demonstration is part of a nationwide workers? demonstrations aimed to pressure the government to stop the outsourcing system of labor and improve the welfare of workers.
