The mudflow is occurring in Muaro Pijoan village, Jambi Luar Kota district, Muaro Jambi regency.

PEP said in a statement on Friday that preliminary tests indicated that there were no oil and gas contained in the mud.

?Althought the tests indicate there is no oil and gas in the mud, as part of social and environmental responsibility, the Emergency Task Force of PT Petamina EP Field Jambi is now on standby at the location, relentlessly monitoring the situation and preparing measures to stop the mudflow,? Agustinus, PEP?s acting spokesman, said.

PEP is coordinating with the local government to handle the mudflow and they plan to set up a joint team to cope with it.

?We call on the people living near the mudflow location not to panic as we are taking measures to handle the mudflow,? he said.
