PEP set to drill Poleng N2 well

Upstream company PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Asset 4, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, is scheduled to start today (Thursday) its maiden offshore drilling of Poleng N2 well at the Poleng field, offshore East Java.

Pertamina said in a statement Wednesday that the drilling program, which will use the ENSCO 67 rig, will take about 45 days, with a target depth of 9,000 feet and estimated cost of US$15 million.

The drilling program is expected to be able to provide 700 bpd of oil and 1.2 mmscfd of gas. In addition, the drilling program is also aimed at adding hydrocarbon absorption points at the CW area in the Kujung structure.
