PEP sets higher oil production target at Poleng field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said oil production at Poleng field in East Java this year has been set higher at 3,088 bopd, compared to last year?s realized output of 2,858 bopd.

Operation and Production Director of PEP, Pribadi Mahagunabangsa said in a statement on Monday that he is optimistic that the oil production target could be achieved as output as per January 29 has reached 2,983 bopd.

He added that although Poleng is relatively an aging field, the company managed to exceed last year?s output target of 2,843 bopd, thanks to various measures implemented by PEP since assuming operatorship of the field in 2013.

He added that the average output of the field under the previous operator was only 2,030 bopd.
