PEP strikes more oil, gas in Bunyu field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of the state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, announced that a production testing on May 16 at BN-25 well at Bunyu field in East Kalimantan has resulted in a flow of 3,180 bopd and 0.9 mmscfd.

This follows recent successful drillings at several wells at the field. The latest one was the drilling of BN-26 wells, which produced 2,427 bopd and 0,9 mmscfd of gas during a trial production.

PEP President Director Syamsu Alam said the results should bode well to the company?s efforts to boost production in the eastern part of the country. In April, it announced that production from its operations in eastern Indonesia reached 11,690 boepd. Nationally, PEP is trying to meet its production target of 135,000 boepd this year. PEP said it has been making efforts to meet the target by speeding up the implementation of 2012 programs which include accelerating the drilling of wells in Sukowati, Bunyu, Sanga-Sanga and and Limau fields.
