PT Pertamina EP (PEP) plans to accelerate drilling program for 28 exploration wells this year, which is expected to increase oil and gas production to 235 MBOEPD.
?We?re thankful to be awarded by SKK Migas as the most active company in carrying out exploration work. If last year, there were only 24 wells, we?ll go for 28 wells (this year),? company Vice President for Exploration, Nanang S. Manaf, told Petromindo.com Friday.
PEP plans to drill 5 wells this year in the eastern part of Indonesia. ?This includes two wells in Papua with spud target in mid April; two wells in Sulawesi with spud target in May; and one well in Bunyu, East Kalimantan,? said Nanang.
In North Sumatra, PEP plans to carry out 2D seismic work covering a length of 200 km in the Rantau field. Meanwhile, for the Benggala well in Langkat, the company plans to quickly propose a put on production (POP) to the SKK Migas. ?The result of the drill steam test (in Benggala) indicates 7 mmscfd of gas.?
