Upstream company PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina EP (PEP) is seeking cooperation with companies owned by the Bojonegoro Regency administration in East Java and Musi Banyuasin Regency administration in South Sumatra to help manage aging oil fields at its working areas.
PEP President Director, Nanang Abdul Manaf told Petromindo.com on Friday that the proposed cooperation was in line with the direction of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan. ?The proposed cooperation is expected to start in August. Only in the two regions,? he said, but did not provide further details.
Illegal oil drilling activities have been quite rampant at PEP?s Cepu block in Bojonegoro and at Ramba block in Musi Banyuasin.
